General Picture Books

Two friends share three mushrooms... who will get the extra one?

"Bear finds three tasty mushrooms on her way home through the woods. Her friend Weasel cooks them up in the frying pan. But the friends have a problem: how to share three between two?

Bear and Weasel each come up with one argument after another for why they should have more: I found them! I cooked them. With my recipe! I like mushrooms more than you. I'm bigger. I'm still growing...

Until the fox comes around the corner and snatches a mushroom. That solved the problem. They eat the two mushrooms and it's time for dessert. Here comes Weasel with the scrumptious wild strawberries, three of them to share..."

Jem's Review:

Three mushrooms, two friends, one big argument!

Bear finds three mushrooms out in the woods and brings them home to her friend Weasel, who cooks them up. The friends sit down to enjoy their meal together - but wait! Who gets the third mushroom? Both Bear and Weasel make compelling arguments as to why they, and not the other, should get the extra snack. But they’re not the only ones eyeing up those mushrooms…

Jörg M?hle, the writer/illustrator behind the Little Rabbit board book series, has once again crafted a beautifully illustrated and funny story with oodles of charm about sharing (and keeping your eyes on the prize).
