Annual 2

Author(s): Kate De Goldi; Susan Paris

Gift Books | NZ Middle Fiction | Short Stories/Plays | NZ Junior Fiction | NZ Poetry | Poetry and Nursery Rhymes

Annual 2 contains all-new material for 9- to- 13-year-olds. The result is a highly original, contemporary take on the much-loved annuals of the past - all in one beautiful package.

Alongside familiar names publishing for children - Gavin Mouldey, Sarah Johnson, Ben Galbraith, Barry Faville, Giselle Clarkson, and Gregory O'Brien - you'll find the unexpected, including a new song by Bic Runga, a small-town mystery by Paul Thomas, and a classic New Zealand comic illustrated by new talent Henry Christian Slane.

Smart and packed with content, a book for the whole family.

Annual is back and stuffed to the gunwales with more excellent writing and illustration from across Aotearoa. There are craft projects (who hasn't wanted to make a balloon letterbox or knit their own digestive system?), a new boardgame, and a recipe for cosmic pancakes as well. Sarah Forster at The Sapling has a great review here.

Aimed a little more towards the top end of the 8-13 age range this time (my well-read 6 year old nephew loved the first book but may need some help with this one), it's a book to read again and again and the perfect gift for a family.
