What if every young girl loved her body?

Freedom is loving your body with all its "imperfections" and being the perfectly imperfect you!

This book encourages young girls to admire and celebrate their bodies for all the amazing things they can do, and to help girls see that they are so much more than than their bodies. It introduces the language of self-love and self-care to help build resilience, while representing and celebrating diverse bodies, encouraging girls to appreciate their uniqueness.

This book was written for every girl, regardless of whether or not they are exhibiting signs of negative body image.

All girls deserve to be equipped with the tools to navigate an image-obsessed world.

Ruth's Review:

Self-love is the most important kind of love because the relationship you have with yourself and with your body is the most important relationship you will ever have.

This empowering book encourages young girls to admire and celebrate their bodies for all the amazing things they can do, and to help girls see that they are so much more than their bodies. It introduces the language of self-love and self-care to build resilience, while representing and celebrating diverse bodies, encouraging girls to appreciate their uniqueness.

Sanders, an Australian social worker and author, says her book is written for every girl, regardless of whether or not they are exhibiting signs of negative body image. She believes girls deserve to be equipped with the tools to navigate an image-obsessed world.

Rossetti’s bright, contemporary illustrations show a wide range of bodies and depict pimples and cellulite in order to normalise what so many people regard as “imperfections”.

Love Your Body uses language that is not gendered and is designed to reassure and comfort girls and those who identify as a girl. A couple of useful NZ helplines are included.

Recommended for age 8+
