This is the first dictionary to be written all in Maori and has been developed as part of Huia's ongoing linguistic research programme. Tirohia Kimihia is a learner dictionary written for students in Maori schools but will be useful for all learners of Maori language. There are approximately 3500 headwords in Tirohia Kimihia, and more than 6000 meanings are defined. The focus of the dictionary is on content words, so the headwords are mostly verbs, nouns and adjectives.
