Filbert, the Good Little Fiend

Author(s): Hiawyn Oram

General Picture Books

In the crazy, multi-coloured, topsy-turvy world of fiends, it's good to be bad and bad to be good! For a fiend, good behaviour will simply NOT tolerated. A fiend is gruesome and ghastly. They trample and terrify, glare and scare, roar and holler! Filbert, however, is a good little fiend. He helps old women with their shopping and enjoys a spot of bird watching. One day at school, Filbert is banished to the grassy Good Step for being too good. There he (literally) bumps into Florinda the Angel, sent home from Angel School for not being good enough. Together, they concoct a plan that will ensure that everyone will finally be happy with them just as they are: a not so fiendish fiend and a not quite perfect angel! This is an unconventional tale that turns notions about good and bad behaviour on their head. Children will love it! It is an exciting first time collaboration with Walker Books and Hiawyn Oram, the acclaimed creator of Angry Arthur. Stunning, illuminous illustrations by Jimmy Liao bring this fiendish world to life in vivid detail.
